What is SMS? is a new service that enables you to subscribe to daily messages, to be sent to a mobile phone or handheld device, as text messages.

What does SMS stand for?

SMS stands for Short Messaging Service. It's also known as text messaging.

Opting in to SMS

The process for joining is very simple:

* Step 1: Send a text message to the US Shortcode 42255 with the word MAZEL in the body of the message.
* Step 2: You will be sent a message confirming that you would like to join the program to receive a daily message to your mobile phone. Reply to this message with the word YES to confirm your opt-in.
* Step 3: Once you have confirmed, you will be sent a message to your phone daily.

How do I stop receiving messages?

Send a message to the 5 digit US Shortcode 42255 with the words STOP, END, CANCEL, QUIT or UNSUBSCRIBE, and you will immediately be removed from the program.

Using our text messaging service

Will SMS work on my mobile phone or handheld device?

As long as you have a phone or device that's able to do text messaging or send and receive SMS messages, then you should be all set. No web browser is needed on your phone SMS only works on major mobile providers in the US.

Please make sure that you have text messaging enabled on your service plan. If you're not sure, please check with your mobile provider.

How much does it cost? charges a premium of $4.99 per month for the daily message program and $4.99 (one time charge) per wallpaper. This is billed directly to your cell phone bill, on the 1st of each month, once you opt-in to the program.

When I send a message using SMS, who's replying to me?

When you use SMS, you're sending us a specialized message. This message is to opt-in to our daily message program. As soon as you confirm your selection, you are added to our list to receive a daily messages to your phone, sent from US. WE DO NOT SELL YOUR INFORMATION TO ANY OUTSIDE ADVERTISERS. We have a strict privacy policy that we adhere to, to ensure you are not bombarded with unsolicited junk mail.

Does SMS work everywhere?

Currently, SMS only works in the U.S.

Which mobile providers does SMS support? SMS works on all major mobile providers in the US.

Does SMS work in other languages?

No, not yet. SMS only works in English.

I have free messages through my mobile phone plan. Can I use them for SMS?

Yes, you can. Please note that the text messages you send and the messages you receive with your results will each count towards your text message total.

Does sending a text message use up minutes of my mobile phone plan?

No, text messages does not use up minutes, it counts towards your allotted text messaging that is a part of your overall mobile phone plan.

How can I get help if I am still having a problem?

You can send us an email to or call us on our toll-free number 1-800-599-0791. You can also text the word HELP to 42255 for a summary of the program. TZADAKA Program has set up the tzadaka program to allow us to give back to our community. A temple, charity or organisations can sign up to receive their own opt-in keyword. That allows us to track how
many people have signed up from that community. we give back 10% of the net proceeds to the organisation
when someone signs up with their keyword.

Troubleshooting SMS doesn't seem to work on my phone. What should I do?

Try these steps first:

1. Check to see if text messaging is enabled on your phone and on your mobile plan. If not, or you're not sure, call your mobile provider.
2. Note that SMS works on all major mobile providers in the US, including Alltel, Cingular/AT&T, Nextel, Sprint PCS, T-Mobile, and Verizon.
3. Make sure you sent the text message to the 5-digit US shortcode 42255
4. Try to send a text message to your own phone number. If you can't, contact your mobile provider.

If you have recently switched mobile providers while keeping the same phone number (number portability), text messaging may not work immediately.

US shortcodes are not supported on prepay plans, which means that unfortunately, you currently can't use our text messaging with prepay.
